Hangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage
Protection Center was established with the authority of Hangzhou Editorial Board
in 2008. It is a non-profitable cultural institution entitled with minister-level
grant attached to the Department of Culture, Radio, Film, TV, Press and Publication
of Hangzhou with an authorized size of six staff.
The center has direct responsibility for drawing
up, approving and carrying out plans for the protection of Intangible cultural
Hangzhou, one of the seven
ancient capitals, is among the first batch of 24 historical and cultural cities
appointed by the State Council. A famous tourist city, Hangzhou is now the political,
economic, scientific, educational and cultural center of Zhejiang Province. Hangzhou
boasts numerous Intangible cultural heritages. Recently, under the correct guidance
of Hangzhou Municipal Government, the functional governments have adopted many effective
measures to develop protection
